Exploring underwater depths with immersive sound design
Sound design students every year at UNCSA create an immersive soundscape experience for audiences with state-of-the-art technology. Immersive sound design engulfs its listeners in a world of sound, placing them in the center of a bubble of sound to embark on the journey the sound designer has created. Design & Production students Camille Everett and Cat Alewine chose to explore the deepest trenches of the ocean with sound design by creating an immersive story following a submersible diver as she travels to the bottom for the first time. Explore their story, process and design in this behind-the-scenes exploration.
